EQFH PROFESSIONAL
The EQ From Hell Professional is a 3-band parametric EQ that is an modern replica of the the vintage Furman PQ3 parametric EQ/preamp. It has "minus infinity" to +20 dB of cut/boost, sweepable frequency, and adjustable Q (bandwidth) per band and a maximum 86dB output in the midrange.

The story: back in 2021 we set out to capture the spirit of the fabled Furman PQ3 and put it into a pedal. We set some design goals: 3 usable bands, good, range of Q values, usable amounts of boost and cut, and, almost the most important of all, something QUIET that didn't require the use of a noise gate when you were doing some crazy boosting. The EQFH was born and it received praise from everyone who tried it, from bedroom guitarists to touring musicians!

Some of these touring musicians were around in the 80s and 90s and actually had PQ3's in their rigs back then and there was a common theme in their feedback: I love the EQFH but can you make it more like the original, with the noise and everything? Challenge accepted! We managed to track down a vintage green-face unit for sale for an ungodly amount of money and began the reverse engineering process. After months of work, prototyping, refining, more prototyping, gathering feedback, and more prototying, the EQFH Professional was born!

The EQFH Professional is a modern re-creation of the original PQ3 greenface in a pedal. We also added some of the extra features that the original had: the signal overload circuit, which lets you know when your signal is starting to clip, a Hi/Lo gain switch to help accommodate different situations and instruments, and an EQ bypass switch which lets you only use the pre-amp section of the EQFH Professional and bypass the the EQ portion.

We beefed up the power supply section of the pedal while still using a standard boss-style 9V power supply (2.1mm, center negative) with a minimum 150mA current. There is also power protection on board in case you accidentally plug in a DC supply greater than 9V, or you loan it to a friend who accidentally uses a 9V AC power supply to try and power it. Even with all of this extra protection, using a power supply greater than 9V may void your warranty.

Controls for each band include Cut/Boost (+20dB), sweepable frequency, and adjustable Q (Bandwidth).

The low band frequency range is 25 - 500Hz.
The mid band frequency range is 150 - 2,500 Hz.
The high band frequency range is 600 Hz - 10.0 kHz.

The Volume control is a pre-EQ boost. The maximum amount of boost available with the volume and EQ section is +86dB.

The EQFH Professional works amazing in front of your amp as a boost to hit the front end of your amp HARD and get rid of any unwanted mud or other trouble frequencies, or in the FX Loop after your gain stages to sculpt and refine your sound. It's no coincidence that so many guitar heroes of the 80s and 90s used the PQ3 as their secret weapon!
